We work directly with craft collectives in Southeast Asia and Southern Europe. By bypassing distributors, we ensure artisans receive fair wages that sustain their families and local weaving traditions.
Wild seagrass is harvested sustainably from coastal wetlands. It is sun-dried, sorted by thickness, and spun by hand into strong organic cords. Master weavers then build sturdy frames using native rattan and begin the intricate process of hand-wrapping.
It takes up to four days of focused manual labor to complete a single Chindi Collective seagrass basket or side table. This tight, rhythmic braiding yields high tension, incredible longevity, and a comforting herbal aroma that gently fills your room.
Our ceramic range is sourced from family-run workshops where clay throwing is a multi-generational legacy. Local riverbed clay is hand-refined, mixed with natural silica, and thrown on kick wheels.
We use warm terracotta clays to evoke Mediterranean sunsets and dark clay stoneware for high tactile depth. Each item is glazed with iron and copper oxides, creating beautiful, earthy surfaces after being wood-fired at 1200°C.
